After being successfully used on the ship “Snow Dragon” and some Chinese science investigation ship, StarNeto’s integrated navigation products are once again used in FPSO. FPSO, or Floating Production Storage & Offloading integrates production processing, storage outer transportation, life and dynamics supply. Oil-gas floating production offloading system is complicated and overpriced than tankers with same tonnage. As part of the marine oil and gas development system, FPSO is part of the production system with underwater production offloading and shuttle tanker. At present, FPSO is a high tech product in marine engineering ships.
Due to its marine location, FPSO often meets various harsh environments, which is a critical problem for its motion response features. The issue influences the FPSO system’s safety and operation efficiency, which is very important. In this application, we used XW-ADU5630 to monitor the whole tanker’s attitude changes as well as information of its heading, position, etc. Also, we used RTK, i.e., XW-GPS1010 to monitor the taker’s distance changes between the tanker and west single point platform. We also used the position change of the tanker with respect to the single point platform. We monitored the data for a long period of time and carrying out research for its motion response features. All of these offers reference for FPSO’s production and operation, which is very important.

XW-ADU5630, a high accuracy attitude and azimuth integrated navigation system, employs two high accuracy and high dynamic GPS receivers as its satellite signal sensors. Using carrier phase differential technology and fast calculation integer ambiguity technology, it calculates moving carrier’s azimuth. With high accuracy IMU for assisted attitude sensing and navigation, our XW-ADU5630 can still outputs high accuracy data of azimuth, attitude and position for a period of time by using IMU which maintains the accuracy.

As shown in the above diagram, tanker’s heading and attitude are reflected by XW-ADU5630. Its attitude accuracy is 0.5 degree and heading accuracy is 0.03 degree, depending on the distance, L, between the front antenna and rear antenna. The actual accuracy is 0.2/L. The actual distance in this case was 6m.
RTK, XW-GPS1010m is designed for applications, such as, short-baseline engineering lofting, terrain mapping, GIS data collection and geological mineral survey, etc. It has high accuracy at low cost. Our XW-GPS1010 supports network RTK with a short initialization and re-acquisition time. With a baseline of 2km, its accuracy is 5MM+1PPM. With a baseline that is longer than 2km, the system automatically switches to RTD mode and reaches an accuracy of 0.3m. The system consists of base station and mobile station. In this application, base station was mounted on the single point fixed platform, while the mobile station was mounted on the tanker, for monitoring the relative position changes between the tanker and fixed platform
By analyzing the data acquired at the scene by RTK(XW-GPS1010), we have got a real time distance curve between the single point platform and the tanker. Distance calculation accuracy is within the range of 5MM+1PPM, when the system operates in the mode of RTK. when the system operates in the mode of RTK.
